Generic .357 Magnum Revolver
The .357 Magnum revolver gradually (but never completely) replaced the .38 Special as the “default” American police weapon from the 1960s to the late 1980s. A few departments, as well as some private security companies, still use these revolvers out of tradition or for lack of funding for replacements. Many experts believe that the .357 Magnum round strikes the perfect balance between size, muzzle energy and recoil. Long-barreled .357 Magnums are available with similar Trait adjustments to .38 Specials: Size becomes 1/J, Range becomes 35/70/140.
