Under-Barrel Launcher
Combat experience with standalone launchers proved that they were too bulky and unwieldy for a riflemen to carry along with their primary weapons, and grenadiers needed more self-protection than smaller firearms. The under-barrel launcher solved these problems by removing all of the nonessential parts of a launcher and clamping it securely under the barrel of an assault rifle. Some under-barrel launchers have optional shoulder stocks that allow them to function as stand-alone launchers (Cost ••).
