Burial Rights

In Vanor cremation is uncommon. Its considered to be the choice only of the poorest and/or most paranoid.
Burial is very common, to leave the potential for revival: a real possibility in this world. Nobles and the rich who can afford it will even go to the extent of leaving a diamond worth 1000gp in the mouth so if any curious exploring clerics come across them they can be revived.
For the rest of the population its not uncommon to be buried with prayer materials for the god that they wish to serve in the afterlife, along with the matching earrings.
People are buried either in a set of their clothes or a burial shroud (leaving the face uncovered) - whichever is preferable for the family.
It is preferable to be buried in a tended crypt rather than a graveyard although both are valid options. In Elphora larger towns will have crypts to cover the surrounding area with at least one full time employee, covering the role of crypt keeper and mortician. The entrance to each room of a crypt is decorating with chimes or bells, intended to alert the crypt keeper of potential undead.
