Personal history
He was born and raised in Ulgate as part of the Aylward family, a long standing line that were the inherited protectors of the town. He had a normal childhood in the town and grew up wanting nothing more than to earn the title of Warden of Ulgate, the protector of the town and leader of the guard.
At the age of 14 he began training for combat both on and off of horseback, wishing to join the guard as one of the towns renowned cavalry guards. He joined the guard at 16 under the tutelage of his father, the at the time Warden. After many years within he took over from his father as Warden at the age of 36.
At the age of 44 he adopted his latest horse after his last was retired from service. The horse was Rhubarb, one of the finest steeds the town had seen, immediately the two became an effective team, inseparable and effective in all situations they faced.
At the age of 53 he led the defence of the town that would be the last for him and the town, him and the guard fought but first Rhubarb was brought down followed by Rowan after trying to defend his steed from the attackers, ending with the destruction of the town and death of its entire population.

Failures & Embarrassments
He failed to protect Ulgate, it cost him everything and Ulgate was still razed and nothing and no-one left to remain. It is something he will never forgive himself or its attackers for.
Morality & Philosophy
Will always attempt to protect those who cannot protect themselves. There is no worse action then using your power to abuse those weaker, no matter be that financial, political or physical.
