Degtha

Degtha   Owner of the Hellraven Adventuring Guild.   Beholder    Age 386, 967-1353   History   Degtha didn't appear in Astiria until the year 1301, it was captured by the wizard Septimus and released with the order to cause chaos in the realm. Degtha did just this, but when Septimus was defeated Degtha was no longer was under his command. Degtha decided to start hoarding magical artifacts and knowledge and trying to gain power for itself. Its mind was muddled though and it was truly mad. It one day found a deck of cards and stupidly drew one from it. Degtha drew a card that shifted its view on life (and changed its alignment). It was still a beholder and it still had its greed and superiority complex, but they also liked good company and didn't want to just murder its way through everything. It decided to make a business that would give him incredible power and influence, so in the year 1306, it founded the Hellraven's, Adventuring Guild. While it was hard to get going it eventually made a good network of connections and built a tavern that would also serve as his home. This place was called Raven's Rest. By the year 1348, it had major outposts in nearly every country, so it can manage adventures intercontinentally.   Personality   Degtha is a bartender who is a good listener, it understands that normally people aren't fond of beholders and doesn't show his face in the tavern except during nighttime or if it's only people it knows. It is a master at organizing and assigning jobs and is good at assessing one's character. His vast contacts allow him to manage quests all throughout the world from his remote location. It thinks it is better than the adventurers but it also sees them as fun a joyful and enjoys their roudyness. It is a skilled negotiator and people rarely wish to get on its bad side. That being said it is very forgiving and won't make a fuss over small things.
