History
Duva was born in Thay while Szass Tam was still taking power, he was a human man who became the Zulkier of Enchantment. He was famous for his ability to subject stronger creatures to his will. Szass Tam while he was taking power in the Thayan government saw Duva as a key figure to his plans and he began to charm Duva with his cunning personality. Duva eventually swore loyalty to him in a magic oath that could not be broken. Duva became the mage recruiter and indoctrinated promising children into his magic school, sometimes they would become liches, oftentimes they perished. Notably, Tarul Var was one of his apprentices, until Tarul Var killed Duva for status. Duva regenerated in his phylactery and he recognized Tarul Var as a successful experiment. Later Duva was tasked as being the Lich in charge of invading Vardano, as per Szass Tam's request. He used his enchantment power to cast a permanent Dominate Monster on a Terrasque and took it with him to battle. He invaded the city of Undermountain and invaded Astiria for a time before a group of adventurers, retook Undermountain and slew him, making him regen in his Phylactery. By that time the Vardano realm was already cut off from the multiverse and Duva was trapped there.
Personality
Duva was a person who was always looking to spread the secrets of magic to all people who would follow him. He loved seeing his students blossom and grow as people and he was strangely obsessed with it. He cried whenever his pupils died, but they were not strong enough so there was nothing he could do. Duva was a quiet person on the outside but a friendly fellow to those who knew him.
