Oakvil

Oakvil   Population: 900   Races: Humans, Halflings   Status: Poor   History   Oakvil was settled in the year 1179 by humans from Horken and halflings from Columnar The town experienced general peace except that once every summer goblins came from a place called the Sunless Citadel and tried to sell a magical fruit. This fruit despite its sketchiness appeared to work and grant extra years onto your life, a few farmers have tried to plant the fruits, and they start to grow into trees before eventually they disappear. Several summers later people started disappearing from the town every couple of months. Four adventurers were sent into the Sunless Citadel to try and find out more, they were the siblings Talgen and Sharwyn Hurecle, Kakras, and Sir Balford They did not come back from their journey. In the year 1300, a group of four travelers named Avenue, Buddy, Spark, and Gornt found the town looking for a halfling by the name of Eryk Timbers. They tracked the missing people from the Sunless Citadel and discovered that the planted trees were turning into monsters and kidnapping people to turn them into the same.   Description   Oakvil is a small farming community with the entirety of the town made up of wooden buildings and only a few prominent structures, one being the village hall where Mayor Vurnor Leng governs from. Another is the general store owned and operated by Kerowyn Hurecle. One more is the Shrine of Pelor which is maintained by Corkie, a female gnome priest of Pelor. There is a rarely used jailhouse in which miscreants serve their sentences, The Blacksmith was Rurik Lutgehr however he was killed in the year 1300. Lastly, there is the Ol' Boar Inn a respectable establishment run by Garon, a human male. The Inn only has a few rooms and even fewer kinds of drinks   Oakvil Today   The town gets occasionally trouble from the northeast and the bandits that reside there. However, the militia can take care of most small issues, other than the murdered blacksmith the town is getting along just fine
