Redlen

Redlen   Population: 610   Races: Warforged, Half-Elfs, Air Genasi   Status: Rich   History   Redlen was settled in the year 981 to try and capitalize on the crystals growing in the area named Dust Rocks. However many challenges were in place to colonize Redlen because it was straight in the middle of a consistent red dust storm. The Pits-Burg officials created the Warforged to settle this area, based on ancient gnomish design. Lightning strikes the Dust Rocks and this makes them ideal for magic item crafting. They are mined and sent to Half Lit Island for processing. Once the town got settled in people got to work, because the town was so valuable often dragons and bandits and thieves often tried to steal the Dust Rocks, this prompted to the town to create a very impressive military. This military was able to defend the town easily and under the rule of Count Draka the Terrible the army was sent to try and capture Chani for economic gain, The rest of Astiria really did not like this and fought back. Emperor Leck personally visited the settlement and brought a swift conclusion to the war. Redlen was demilitarized for a long time until the year 1298 when for some reason they broke protocol and started investing in an army once again.   Description   Redlen is in the middle of a red desert with a constant dust storm circling around the town. Lightning strikes often and thunder can be heard night and day. The visibility around the town only goes out to 300 feet and during bad times the citizens stay inside completely and let the Warforged manage the town. There is lots of underground roads and buildings for people to take shelter in as this is a daily occurrence. The guards in Redlen wear Red armor to camouflage with the storm and the Dust Guardians are some of the most fearsome warriors an enemy can face. Horrific tales are told by thieves who lived through a dust gaurdian attack. The town has tall walls and no towers, most people need a navigator to travel to Redlen but there is often a service that will do it for a fee.
