History
Ridano Malt, grew up in the elf country of Polla, during the time of his upbringing most of the races were at war with each other, or not sharing countries, territories, or beliefs. Ridano decided that he would propose a joint settling of the far off island, which he called the promised lands. The idea was an experiment to attempt to make peace between the 12 powers and establish an alliance against even greater threats. The elves of Polla agreed and one by one Ridano got the other powers to cooperate with his ingenious plan. 16 Years later the elf set sail across the seas with his wife and landed on what we now know as Half-Lit Island. Ridano was a respected leader and held piece between the races. Ridano was injured grievously 3 days before the Half-Lit Tradgedy. Ridano was ambushed on his way home by a group of elves for unknown reasons, his leg had to be amputated. Ridano did have a child who was 4 at the time of this who was named Eleanor Malt.
Personality
Ridano, was not a friendly man although he clearly cared for his fellow colonists, Ridano always had a stern expression on his face of purpose and valor. There were only two known times when he properly smiled, when his daughter was born, and when they landed at Astiria.
Death
After Ridano's previous injury he wasn't able to sustain himself during the tragedy, When the hordes of the dammed assulted, all he could do was use the little magic he knew. He died so that as many survivors and possible could escape the island, because of his actions Eleanor Malt was able to escape the battle, though his wife wasn't so lucky.
