History
Born in the town of Horken with his brother Leck, Szass Tam researching deep arcane secrets that were brought to Astiria by elven smugglers. He found something called the Rite of Zakuu. Which had a few different variants, one of which he used to turn himself into a lich. He tried to sacrifice a little girl to perform the rite however Leck stopped him. Szass Tam discovered that Leck was trying to gain political power to fight against him so Tam fled Astiria and eventually landed in a land called Thay. Szass Tam with his incredible magical talent found himself in a position of the council of Zulkirs and became the Zulkir of necromancy. He used an artifact called The Death Moon Orb to control the other members of the council and became the leader before long. Rather than get bogged down in a lengthy political struggle, Szass Tam manufactured a series of conflicts in an attempt to ascend as the elected High Regent of Thay. When all of the Zulkirs, including his former allies, refused this proposition, the lich withdrew from the council. He then ravaged the nation with undead hordes, that began a civil war that divided his northern tharchs, from those in the south held by the council The war raged on for a decade, and finally came to an end the year the Spellplague struck Toril. Szass Tam emerged as the victor, and the remaining former Zulkirs fled Thay During his rule, Szass Tam appointed a number of powerful liches as the new Zulkir Council of Thay. While they all practiced some form of necromantic magic, they kept their role as supreme authority over the respective schools of magic within the Red Wizards. Even though they were superior to nearly all within the Thayan bureaucracy, they all remained subservient to the High Regent. After become High Regent Szass Tam took hold of his remaining enemies with the Death Moon Orb and began amassing his army to conquer other lands. Possessions

Szass Tam is currently preparing his armies to rush through The Doomvault and capture the souls of the people of Astria, With enough souls captured Szass Tam is confident in his ascent to godhood he is in Castle Hundrak and defended by the people of Thay, he is governing them from the shadows hidden in dark rooms and secret corridors. Szass Tam is trying to gain control of the Demon Prince
