Personal history
Gripus Aruns, born in Vrego 4070 AC, was a tough and strong kid from an early age, often called upon to help with loading and unloading heavy cargo from trade boats and caravans. In his teens, he was known as a respectful bully who only picked on and intimidated other kids who were out of line. When Gripus turned 19, he sought after a career as a soldier, willing to be deep in the frontline, getting right into his enemy's face is what drove him in combat.
After having served for 4 years as a Footman and a Sergeant and survived countless brutal battles, Gripus felt his aptitude and expertise were being limited in his position. Presented with his battle reports and accommodations, the higher-ups granted him the rank of Captain and he was allowed to form his own military unit; Claws of The Order. Commanding and fighting from the frontline was exactly what he had been waiting for, his strategies, tactics, and sheer overall unit skill was unparalleled by any other enemy army's equivalent forces.
In 4102 AC, The Knights Order were attempting to invade and conquer Amatsu. Gripus and his unit had pushed into Tannowa where they reached Crimson Valley, a massive valley pass named after a very rare blood-red cherry blossom tree forest that covered the entire pass. It was thought to be completely devoid of any hostile activity, according to scouts. As Gripus and his men were crossing, they were ambushed by soldiers of The Hinami Empire and were outnumbered fifteen to one. Gripus and his thousand strong elite unit engaged in what would later be described as one of the most bloody and brutally intense battles recorded in the last century. Each soldier had been trained to hold their ground and prevent any form of advancement from their enemies. For hours they held a formation stronger than the steel of their shields, smashing their opposition into the ground by the hundreds as they all piled up, trying to break through. The soldiers of The Hinami Empire were routed after losing nearly all their forces, while Gripus' rock-solid command and his fearless soldiers got them through the ambush with minimal casualties. For his valiant and heroic actions, he received nothing but an honorary title 'Champion of Crimson Valley' and a promotion to Commander, this did not sit well with him as he knew he deserved more.
Over the coming years, Gripus and his unit went on to win countless battles, but his bitterness towards The Knights Order lingered and grew stronger with each enemy soldier dead by his hands. Slowly other armies began to lose battles and it was apparent that the Knights were beginning to lose the war. In 4117 AC, he and 6 other high-ranking officers staged a military coup and broke off to form their own faction The Order of Seven, which left a huge power vacuum and subsequently caused the collapse of The Knights Order. Gripus' unit was absorbed into the new order and redesignated Bulwark of The Seven.
