The Spirit Plate
Constructed by the Gods during the beginning of the human revolution in the year 308 AC as a means of traveling between the newly created spirit world made by Oahn and the physical mortal world. The spirit plate had deep connections to all of the gods and could be used by humans to communicate with specific gods and traverse the 2 realms. Upon using the spirit plate to gain entry to The Spirit World, the physical body of the person would be left behind at the plate while the spirit of the person wandered the realm. Time works differently in the spirit world, if a person were to spend weeks in the realm, it would equate to only minutes in the real world, making it ideal for philosophers, scientist, scholars, and many other professions to venture in and use the time difference to their advantage.
Originally mapped, discovered, and illustrated by a Zhangwu geographer by the name of Fe Long, his first encounter with the plate helped him put 2 and 2 together and reported his findings back to his guild. His drawings were crude as he was in a rush to beat anybody else to the punch so that The Yulin Dynasty could claim ownership of the landmark, even though it was not in their territory.
The spirit plate also has the ability to allow visitors to view dead people's past lives through their eyes. Many use it to see their deceased family members or relatives, provided that the gods allow it. People granted divine gifts have free reign and do not require permission, but their access is virtually unlimited. In the present day, Velia Virilis uses it to learn from the previous Storm Daughters as did the ones before her.
