Armor and Shields
If at least one pound of Illustrine is used in the construction of a suit of armor or shield, it weighs have as much and gains special properties. Medium armor made of this material can be worn under normal clothes. If the armor normally imposes disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks or has a Strength requirement, armor made of this material doesn’t. Shields can be donned or doffed as a bonus action instead of an action. In addition, one additional property can be chosen when crafting:- The Illustrine glows faintly in the presence of undead within 300' or when Necromancy spells are cast.
- The wearer gains advantage on saving throws against fear.
- The wearer gains resistance to necrotic damage.
- The wearer can roll a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw to resist one level of exhaustion when it is applied.
Weapons
If at least one pound of Illustrine is used in the construction of a weapon, it weighs half as much and gains special properties. An Illustrine weapon functions as magical when striking a creature with immunity or resistance to nonmagical weapons. In addition, one additional property can be chosen when crafting:- The Illustrine glows faintly in the presence of undead within 300' or when Necromancy spells are cast.
- The weapon deals an additional 1d8 radiant damage on critical hits.
- The weapons gains the Light property or gains the Finesse property if already Light.
- An attack roll of a 2 with this weapon counts as a roll of a 12.
