Cantata
Physical Description
Type W rank 4. It has a passive ability to allow its music to travel farther in compliance with its desire for others to listen. Practice has let it master
Guiding Tones a related skill that became quite useful in future endeavors.
Mental characteristics
As a young adult it was known for telling stories while it played with the rest of the quartet. Its renditions of
Worldbreaker and the
Demon's Eye,
Towers of Flame, and
The Scalding Streams are particularly notable.
Helped defend
Zenith during the
War of the Hand by gathering information on the enemy. Cantata would travel around entertaining others while listening for anything of use to report back.
Higher-ups from Veldt had entered the tavern the quartet was playing in. Realizing their discussion was overheard they had a hit put out on the band in an attempt to keep the information from getting out.
Managing to escape, Cantata brings the alarming information directly to Zenith's leader Regi.
The loss of its band mates left it unwilling to continue its travels, finally returning to
Zenith to help rebuild.
Finding
Seven-seven with a
Keyed Fiddle, a rare instrument south of
Noord, Cantata lent it a small lyre to practice with until it was old enough to properly hold the fiddle.
Was taught how to play a variety of instruments, eventually deciding to focus on its preferred
Lyre Harp.
After the conflict it felt it was important to help educate the young in Zenith. Focusing most on those who display musical talents such as frequently whistling or humming tunes.
Personality Characteristics
Would love to see the musical arts thrive again. It does as much as it can to encourage an interest in music among the young.
Due to the lack of surviving craftsmen taking commissions, Cantata spends its free time playing in the market. The location allowing to keep an eye out for any merchants selling old instruments for it to purchase. The gathered items are kept in the citadel for students to practice with.
Social
The quartet would give concerts during private events at
Regi's request. The frequent gigs at the
Citadel lead to members getting to know many of Zenith's officials. Cantata grew to know Regi quite well and was on good terms with its leader despite not always agreeing with its choices.
Nice read with some pretty neat drawings. If it can allow music to go farther does this also make other sounds go farther? How did it lose its bandmembers ,did they die in the conflict or something else?
Thanks for the feedback, I'll see if I can flesh that out more.
