The Black Swamp

A large foreboding swamp that many believe is cursed however it is just an old flooded extension of The Great Forest. The goddess Orran makes her residence here as it is rarely traveled yet is fairly central to the major continent.

Geography

The Black Swamp is a vast swamp covering miles of the northern most section of The Great Forest. Everything is wet and muddy for the most part, the sun has trouble penetrating the trees and a permanent gloom seems to cover the swamp. There are many folk tales of the swamp being cursed/corrupted/poisoned.

Fauna & Flora

The trees are ancient in the swamp and many are of the willow variety. The number of falling and rotten trees are equal to the ones standing and make the entire place shaded and dusky. Various types of blooming vines and low light plants are prominent in the swamp. The majority of creatures living within the swamp are reptiles and amphibians, however many other more wetland species make their home in the swamp. Due to the constant shade more creatures are nocturnal than not.
