Arcanum

Every arcane magic practitioner is susceptible to the corruptive powers of Darkness. Therefore, every Bard, Sorcerer, Wizard and Warlock needs to be registered and sanctioned by it's respective College of the Arcanum, a subdivision of the Faith. Any child with arcane powers that cannot be teach or maintained by it's respective Lord, needs to be send to the Arcanum to be raised and instructed in the ways of the arcane.

Ordained

Clerics, Paladins, and Monks are considered ordained profession. The only way to become an Ordained its through the Faith. Other, so called "divine magic practitioners" cannot be called Clerics, Paladins or Monks in any shape or form. An Ordained renounce any claims to lands and titles, but they can marry and have children. Usually the Faith takes care of the spouse, and their children are educated by the Cloister, becoming Children of the Faith. It's normal to noble parents to send their third and/or fourth sons to become an Ordained. Both to obtain power within the Faith and to prevent inheritance conflicts. Noble children of Ordained parents cannot use their family names. They are granted a surname by the Faith.

Necromancy

The increasing Darkness had corrupted the life of the faithful. Not even our holy warriors are saved from it's grasp. The Faith strictly prohibit the use of any Necromancy spell in any shape or form. Bringing back the dead is absolutely forbidden. Any spellcaster found casting or carrying an unsecure spellbook with Necromancy spells must be arrested and is subject to punishment no less than flogging, depending on the severity of the spell.

Lowborne

Any person that is not considered an Ordained, a Children of the Faith, or is not part of a Noble House is considered a Lowborne. Lowborne cannot own or inherit land and do no qualify for certain titles. The only way to accept a Lowborne to a Noble House is to receive the honor by a King or the Head of the Faith. If the Patriarch of the Noble House wants to include a new member to his House, he needs to fill a form and request an audience with the King or the Head of the Faith.

Martial

Fighters, Rogues, and Rangers are considered martial professions and they are trained either by their martial or a senior member of its professions. Rangers can be send to the Cloister to learn the magic aspects of their profession, but they tend to take a more practical approach. They are considered to have a minimal risk to be corrupted by Darkness, and they are most useful training in the wild. Fighters and Rogues that wishes to dabble in arcane magic need to go to the Arcanum, for training. Outsider Professions: Barbarians and Druids are professions considered barbaric and obsolete, practiced only by backwater villagers. The Faith do not sanction, nor approve, nor reject them. Lords can accept members of these professions within their own ranks or retinues, as outsiders or sell-swords. No member of a noble house is allowed to publicly practice this professions, at risk or losing all his/her ranks and titles. A member of these professions shall not be Knighted, not Ordained, unless he/she abandon their old ways and accept to train in a new profession.

Bastards

Children of a highborne parent, out of wedlock. A bastard cannot inherit any rank or title, and is not considered a highborne. As they were born as a sin, its the duty of any parent to send their bastards to the Cloister. There, the Faith will grant them a new surname. At the end of their education they will no longer be considered bastards, but Children of the Faith instead. The Children of the Faith are not highborne, nor lowborn. There, they are encouraged to follow an Ordained profession to ensure the salvation of their soul.
