Celestial Trumpet

Written by World Smithy

Divine Origins

Roughly two millenia prior to the current date, the revered Devas of the Prime breached through the planar veils into the material realm. Heralding their arrival, holy horns were sounded as their messengers flooded in; one could hear their saccharine yet harrowing tune across the entirety of Vasara at the time. After the divine messengers were slain and sent back to their home in Elysium, that tune shifted to one of rage and malice. Hark - The Empyrean Schism had begun.

History

First Owner

The trumpet was once held and used by a Deva whose name has since faded to the winds of time. They did not have it for very long, however, as it was given to the angellic entity only moments before it made its way through the breach into the material plane. The horn is thought to have been wrenched from its hands by a Fiend loyal to the Astral Host, as there are deep claw marks on one side of it that still reeks of brimstone.

Second Owner

The second owner is thought to have been a mortal Vasani that was one of the soldiers on the ground at the outset of the Schism. It is also thought that this owner did not hold the instrument for very long, as there are bloody finger prints still visible on the trumpet's valve buttons.

Obscurity Before the Museum

After the first two owners' unfortunate demises, the horn is thought to have been lost to the fields of battle for centuries. Its existance was brought up to one researcher associated with the Thaumaturgic Museum of History in Eo' Wissae. The person who turned the artifact in to the museum staff has since asked to remain anonymous. The celestial trumpet now resides in an enchanted glass case within the "Divine" exhibit located in the Thaumaturgic Museum of History.

I kind of love the creepy vibe of violence this trumpet bears. It leads me to wonder what else it has witnessed.
