Grimoire of Vretiel

The Grimoire of Vretiel is an ancient magical text, thought to be the most ancient in known existence. A powerful artifact that currently resides in the care of the Vretiel triplets.

History

The Grimoire likely followed generations of the Vretiel family and has continued to do so, each generation adding more pages to the book as they came up with new spells and ways to utilize their magic. While the exact history is unknown it is understood that at one point the book belonged to the man who closed the rift in the void, the last of the true Ancients. The danger of the magics within the book however, have led to it being hidden away by the Vretiel family for centuries. A fact that causes some friction with scholars who believe it should be studied or at least displayed in a museum. The current holders of the book are the Vretiel triplets, who all serve the Emperor in some capacity.

Significance

The tome has both magical and historical signifigance due to it's age, as well as the sheer power contained in the pages. Due to this the tome is often asked after by historians and mages curious about old magics.
