Vemsher, Capital of Chikomelan

Vemsher is known as the city of inovation, the heart of industrialism and discovery. A busling metropolis that never sleeps when there is more to create and learn.

Demographics

People from all over the Empire call Vemsher home, due in large part to the high demand of non-industrial jobs and also in part due to the number of accademies and universities that Vemsher houses. Despite this it's primary inhabitants are Tinkers, as the city serves as the capital of their country.

Government

As Vemsher is the seat of power not just for Chikomelan but for the entirety of the Chinait Province province, the city itself is led by the Grand Architect of the Tinkers. What this really means, however, is that he delegates most duties to the Myklal who make up half of the council of advisors he keeps. As such they keep things running as smoothly as they can with the Lord Inventor or the others on the council stepping in only to brin attention to major issues or concerns.

Industry & Trade

Most manufactured goods in the empire find their origin in Chikomelan, of which Vemsher is no small part of those exports. In addition city sees a large trade of information as well. What set Vemsher apart though is that it is the heart of research into steam powered mechanics.

Infrastructure

Warehouses, workshops, studios, labs, academies and universities make up the most of the city and take precedent over almost all else. This is, in large part, due to the very nature of the Tinkers and their insatiable curiosity and need to explore, create, and understand more of the world around them.

Districts

Vemsher is split primarily into districts based on the univeristy in the area, or the major lab, workshop, or warehouse. Most of these districts are essentially the same in size and prestige, as such things as wealth are of little importance to the denizens of the city.

History

Vemsher is a historical city for the Tinkers that has stood the test of time that even their own loss of memory and knowledge on their history before a point. This fact can be seen in some of the ancient bronze and stone architecture that can be seen peaking through and around all the new construction that is constantly evolving the city. Much of the true historical context and knowledge however was lost long ago.

Tourism

Vemsher is not known for it's tourism, as most who do visit are doing so to attend one of the many schools and learn from the best of the best. That said what tourism it does get are drawn by the interest in taking airship tours and experincing inovation in real time.
