Ashenblight
Ashenblight, often referred to simply as The Blight, is the worst plague in the Empire's short history. Like most diseases, it originated from an animal, but one that was imbued with human souls that somehow strengthened the disease as well, making it much deadlier. The Ashenblight required the populace to burn entire villages down to stop the spread. It was an airborne virus said to have been created by a mad Soulomancer experimenting on the animal. Other diseases within Vaskeer are more common. Such as cancers, arthritis, cold and flu, acne, and rashes.
This occurred during the end of the Subjugator's rule, as the new people of the Iron Empire were bestowed land and were still settling. The Ashenblight struck hard and killed many. It was only the quick, ruthless actions of the new Emperor, Calavius Glore, that saved the Empire. He moved all the sick and dying to Greenburn, a town filled with a small forest that could be accessed by sailing Ydall's Heart, and burned the entire town down with those trapped inside. Thousands died in that one horrible fire, but the Empire was saved from the sickness. Calavius earned the name the Demon during this time, and the Ghostwood House arose to live in the ashes of Greenburn.
