Miisai
Live on a diet of milk, meat, and blood exclusively.
Like the Ankole tribe, the Miisai travel the savannahs of Soleri with a large herd of cattle. The herd is not as large as the Ankole, but still formidable. Unlike the Ankole tribe beliefs, the Miisai believe that the cattle were lowered down to the earth by the sky god Miisanta on a leather thong, a gift. Since then, the Miisai treat them as sacred and only eat them when needed to. In this tribe, like with the Ankole, a big family and herd is a sign of a truly successful Miisai.
The Miisai wear flowing robes of red that cover a lot more of their body than other tribes. When men come of age they do a jumping dance to see who can jump the highest as a feat of physical ability. The highest jumper attracts the best bride. They often have short hair.
Traditional weapon – The Miisai Spear. Long blade at the top that resembles a fern. Tip is pronounced and almost oval in shape with a sharp point. End also ends in a point. Brutal and efficient, different to a usual spear.
Distinguishable by their unique spears, long flowing clothes of bright red, and colorful circlets they wear around their necks. The Miisai don’t scar themselves.
The Miisai used to roam through the lands that would become the Thundering Flats before the Iron Kingdom staked their claim. Because of this, many Miisai were forced to fight the Iron Pilgrims of Midcross in the Resolution: A battle of blood and bone, the Resolution was where Sir Roland the Resolute made a name for himself in defence of Midcross, which was tragically abandoned by the rest of the Kingdom unbeknownst to the people of Midcross, in an all-out battle with a Soleri tribe, the Miisai. These red robed spear-experts fought tooth and nail for their ancestral grazing lands but were eventually repelled by Sir Roland and his Reavers. The bones of dead Miisai and other tribesmen were laid in a barrier stretching to either side of Midcross as a warning. The truth of this battle is that Sir Roland knew the Soleri traveled as a large tribe, so when the battle begun, some of Roland's troops slipped around the Soleri force to attack their defenceless tribe. The warriors saw the smoke during the battle and half split to help their families, while the other half fought on, but their force was divided and thus easily defeated by the Iron forces. This is still a mark of distrust on Soleri's end, remembering the hundreds of women and children that were slaughtered by Ironers. Now, the Miisai have put a considerable effort into becoming great warriors, so that they are always ready to defend themselves.
