Vaskeer

Vaskeer is the land within the great Ivory Wall, a towering construct of pristine white marble towering over 3000 feet tall, which circles around all of Vaskeer in a perfect circle. The sky is blocked by a gargantuan river of light, the Burn, made up of millions of dead souls drawn into it over the past 500 years, writhing in torment while casting the land below in either a ruby or emerald glow. The land itself is vast, rife with horrible monsters and savage peoples. Snowcapped peaks tower to the north, overlooking a thin strip of marshy land beset by constant thunderstorms. This is the home of the Iron Empire and its gleaming knights. A sprawling savannah encompasses the majority of Vaskeer, reaching out from a black crater in the perfect center of the circular Ivory Wall. The savannahs are spotted with occasional rainforests, mucks, and ranges, but are mostly arid grasslands. Roaming these lands are the Soleri, many nomadic tribes that live with animals and never stay in one place for long except for their capital city built around a tree as tall as the Wall, thrusting upward and into the Burn, covered in sharpened spikes holding the bodies of hundreds of thousands of dead Soleri. A mystical desert lies East, and descendants of the Soleri tribes sail the small, walled-in seas of East and West and pirates and traders, living on the flooded shores.   The Souls that are seen in the sky rising up to join the twisting channel known as the Burn, or leaking out of a corpse, are black and green, vaguely humanoid in shape, and made of softly glowing mist. Their skin is made up of thick black smoke rolling over itself as if trying to break free but constrained to the vaguely human form. Flashes of bright green energy arc throughout the form, lighting the hollow eyes. They almost appear to be dripping this green energy, but it fizzles as soon as it touches the air. The souls have long spindly arms ending in claws, a prominent ribcage, and screaming skull that all appear solidly amongst the smoke. However, history has shown that different people have different souls, and their personality is often reflected in their soul. In The Burn, the horror of these visages becomes beautiful as the bright green light takes over during the night.   Before the Lost became prominent, horrors overpowered by absorbing another's soul who became twisted, mindless creatures with extra limbs, torn skin, and prominent bones, there were large swathes of land filled with people farming and exploring. But the Lost have forced society to condense into castles. The Iron Empire is mostly made up of empty land filled with roaming monsters, dotted with fantastical castles and well-protected, walled-off farmland.
