The Dance of Lances

The tale of love with Wulfric Lancer at the center of it alongside his two lovers, Ayenna and Smyte Carantus. Their forlorn love turns to hate in their children the Wartide and the Seaspark, and the first naval war begins over Elayne Lancer, who both claim as a sister. The Dance continues into the Battlelance, current leader of House Lancer, and the heirs to the Beautero House. The Sea Fox, infamous Pirate King also plays a major role in the Dance of Lances, but more as a competitive object for the Wartide and the Seaspark.   They competed in varying competitions that escalated slowly but surely to violence. During this time, the Breaking occurred at Ethos' Finger as well. After the natural passing of Sir Wulfric Lancer, his children would come to blows over and over in an attempt to best the other. Eventually, they agreed on a series of competitions to see who was better. Both were profound sailors at this point, and they selected sailor-focused activities.
  1. Rowing race: These were competitions in which sailors would race each other in rowboats or other small vessels. Often held in harbors or along stretches of river, rowing races tested the speed and endurance of the sailors. Won by the Wartide.
  2. Knot-tying contest: Sailors were expected to be skilled at tying knots for a variety of purposes, from securing sails to docking ships. Knot-tying contests would test their ability to tie knots quickly and accurately under pressure. Won by the Seaspark.
  3. Swimming race: Sailors were often required to swim in order to rescue crewmates who had fallen overboard or to retrieve items that had gone overboard themselves. Swimming races tested their speed and endurance in the water. Won by the Seaspark.
  4. Mast climbing contest: Sailors were often required to climb the masts of their ships to perform repairs or adjustments to the sails. Mast climbing contests tested their speed and agility in ascending and descending the mast. Won by the Seaspark.
  5. Barrel rolling race: Barrel rolling races involved sailors rolling barrels along a course on the ship's deck. This tested their balance and coordination, as well as their ability to navigate obstacles. Won by the Wartide.
  6. Cannonball throwing contest: Sailors were expected to be skilled with the ship's weapons, including cannons. Cannonball throwing contests tested their accuracy and strength in throwing cannonballs at targets. Won by the Wartide.
  7. Boat-pulling contest: These contests tested the strength and endurance of sailors, as they were required to pull a boat against the current or against another boat. Won by the Seaspark.
These Games would go on to become an annual game known as the Tidal Games. The Seaspark won overall in a flash-finish Boat-Pulling contest, upsetting the followers of the Wartide. However, distraught with this loss, the Wartide stole a boat and raced out into the Rusted Sea to take down the Sea Fox. He completed this great feat and turned the favor back to his side. Then, the Seaspark attempted to upend him. On and on it went, until the final battle between the two known as the Final Tide. Their sister, Elayne Lancer then drowns herself.
