The Natural World

Vaskeer is a country completely surrounded by a towering wall of Ivory reaching 100 feet tall. The sky is blocked by a river of light made up of the dead souls writhing in torment from the past 500 years, and the land beneath is rife with dangerous beasts and monsters. Towering peaks to the north, a tumultuous sea to the south, a desert to the east, and a savannah that covers the rest. The valley is endless and filled with rolling hills, spotted with occasional rainforests. The Souls that are seen in the sky or leaking out of a corpse are black and green, humanoid in shape, and made of softly glowing mist. Skin is made up of thick black smoke rolling over itself as if trying to break free but constrained to the vaguely human form. Flashes of bright green energy arc throughout the form, lighting the hollow eyes. They almost appear to be dripping this green energy, but it fizzles as soon as it touches the air. The souls have long spindly arms ending in claws, a prominent ribcage, and screaming skull that all appear solidly amongst the smoke. In The Burn, the horror of these visages becomes beautiful as the bright green light takes over. Unlike the real world where large swathes of land are occupied and filled with people of all walks of life, the Lost have forced society to condense into castles. Empty land filled with roaming monsters are dotted with fantastical castles and well-protected farmland.
