Thundering Flats

The newest province in Iron created by the slow and steady expansion of Ironers, the Thundering Flats are an expansive swath of flat plains under constant berating by heavy thunderstorms sweeping from across the sea. The constant rain makes the land marshy, littered with rivers and small lakes not on the map, and is difficult to travel through. There is a new road being constructed between towns in the Thundering Flats built by the Blackblade as he prepares for his rebellion named the Serpent’s Tail, after the Blackblade Serpent.
The Flats do not have a duke or duchess. Dragen Blackblade, the Serpent declares himself King of the Thundering Flats during the novel. The Iron Lord of the Thundering Flats is Prince Ventarion Glore, often called the absent Lord because it is said he has never even visited the Thundering Flats.
