Virnach Mountains

The biggest mountain range in Vaskeer, the Virnach Mountains tips reach as high as the Ivory Wall itself. The largest mountains in the range are topped with snow throughout the year, and in winter the mountains are filled with snow and threaten avalanches. However, lakes and rivers of fresh water run through the mountains, allowing many people to settle in the middle section of the range and naming it The Highlands. Trees cover the mountains wherever they can grow, and mountain wildlife thrives in this good land. The mountains upmost point is around the same height as the Ivory Wall, at about 3000 feet tall. Mining is also very prosperous within the mountains. There are large deposits of Iron, for which the empire took its name from, but also all other essential minerals found here too. Much of the mountains is still unexplored. The mountains and hills crowding around them are littered with many animals, the most deadly of which is the bear. There are also several wolves, boar, and red deer. The ice-cold rivers running from the mountains collects in a freshwater lake at their base named Ydall’s Heart. Built around this lake is the capital city of the Iron Empire: Hero’s Rest.
