Chiton

A species of beautiful iridescent insectoids, one of two dominant cultures on the isolated Lamina Island
"Our journey across the isle has revealed many wonders, but none more striking than the Chiton. Beetles the size of a man, shielded by carapaces with vibrant colors that shift beneath the light through the canopy. An immense colony flourishes here. We spent days on ends with these folk, sharing ideas and traditions with mutual admiration. Especially music. Much to my delight, they are fascinated by it. A scout and I became quite fast friends. We taught each other how to dance."
