Vagrant's Hearth
Vagrant's Hearth is a town that was created for the sole purpose of housing the army of house Alastaire. Over time it grew and became one of the largest cities in the north having a colorful population of humans from all over the place.
The greatest building still in the all of Vagrant's Hearth is the First Tower, a watch tower that is said to be as old as giants that has been reconstructed by the Alastaire and houses their head of the family. From the First Tower begins the Wall of Fires that is partly an actual wall and partly a series of watch towers that have lights o all year long.
Because the city is so big on military and especially training young soldiers, most of its commerce comes from different types of blacksmiths and products circling around weaponry and the skills of duelists. The Alastaire Study of War also employs a lot of people.
There aren't a lot of sellswords or other private operators marketing themselves but one is able to hire parts of the Alastaire Army if they have a good cause and enough money. The family is fiercely loyal to the crown and diligent in their duty to keep peace at the border.
Death is always near in Vagrant's Hearth. The border is dangerous and raids are a normal occurrence. Battles pay well, though, and soldiers have always work to do.
The city itself is divided into ... parts
1. the First Tower, is more of a wall than an actual tower. It is only a few stories tall and wide. It is long and goes beyond the city. The Royal House of Alastaire is housed there and even thought the wall is kilometres long, there is never enough space for the large Alastaire Family. The wall is protected by the family itself and it is the military headquarters.
2. The Iron Square, is where all of the blacksmiths are concentrated. It is right next to docks for easy access and easy transportation of the metals the blacksmiths need. That is also where the merchants trade.
3. The Alastaire Academy of Arts of War is the campus area where most of the soldiers in training live. The academy grounds take up a lot of the space in the tight city.
