Albatross Guild
Members of the Guild, a network of skilled smugglers led by elected officials which stretches across the Summer Sea, Ileoth, and Anaya, are often fiercely loyal to their found family, an attitude both demonstrated and reinforced by the vengeance they visit upon betrayers. The Guild itself is composed only of proven captains and leaders - the petty thieves, smugglers, and mercenaries they hire are "with the Guild, not of it." They hold immense influence in Anaya and north-central Sarpor, but their foothold elsewhere is tenuous, and Xantos has managed to curtail smuggling for the most part.
Structure
Guild leaders, of which there are an unspecified number, are elected by Guild-wide vote with special emphasis on the votes of their regional constituents.
Public Agenda
In some port cities, especially Qathalna, the Guild barely bothers to keep up the pretense of secrecy, operating more or less in the open without fear of the "authorities" whom the Guild leaders own; in others, they conduct business with their heads low, careful not to get in more trouble than they can afford to bail themselves out of. They are hardly a secret organization, but neither are they open about their movements.
