Manywhere
The cradle of the proteans and the ultimate source of aether, the plane of elemental chaos is deadly for any creature tied to physical existence due to its constantly shifting nature. Space and time melt and flow visibly like magma, and bodies wither with age or regress to embryos as the currents change. It is possible for those experienced in soul projection to travel in Manywhere, and elder monks of the Order of the Green Sun do so on the regular, but they risk damage to their immaterial essence. Only a suicidal madman would willingly visit Manywhere in the flesh.
Geography
Gravity: Objective gravity. The location of 'down' varies greatly and often changes even when you stand still.
Time: Erratic time. Every day or every 2 miles traveled in the plane, re-roll at which speed time is flowing relative to the material plane.
Size: Infinite.
Morphic: Highly Morphic. The plane is so chaotic no mortal mind has been able to stabilize it for very long short of strange planar magics. Every minute, it generally undergoes one dramatic change in a 2 mile area from one terrain to the next.
Wild Magic: Spells and spell-like abilities function in wildly different and sometimes dangerous ways on planes with the wild magic trait. Any spell or spell-like ability used on a wild magic plane has a chance to go awry. The caster must make a level check (DC 15 + 2d20) for the spell to function normally. For spell-like abilities, use the caster level for the ability to determine the DC and the level or HD of the creature for making the level check. Failure means something strange happens. In addition, Chaos Elementals are not effected by this, there is a +8 to the DC check for any lawfully aligned spells, and a -4 to the DC for Chaotically aligned spells.
GM: for mechanics, see Notes.
Fauna & Flora
Manywhere is populated by proteans, creatures of varying intelligence whose nature is as impermanent as the plane's terrain. A protean may be a woman, a stone, a dragon, an atom, a moon, or a single hair. When they escape through rifts to the material plane, they appear as sheets of colorful flashing light, which they often form into a shape like that of a worm or serpent. They are capable of temporarily becoming physical, but soon revert to their immaterial form. Many classes of proteans exist, typically increasing in intelligence and power along with their size. They are unpredictable and destructive, and sapient peoples prioritize driving them back and closing any rifts which appear near their settlements.
Natural Resources
Although it is a physical substance and cannot be found within Manywhere itself, most scientists agree that Aether / Sunsblood is formed in the material plane as a side effect of escaping wild magic when rifts to Manywhere are opened. The concentration of aether in Anaya's Bonebreak Mountains and the forests of Midir is directly related to the influx of proteans there and the general instability of those regions.
