The Twins

The Original(s), The First Gods, The Mother's Sins Palobayo & Nerono

Divine Domains

Creation and destruction. Change.

Holy Books & Codes

The History of the Universe's Heart is a book written over time by men of science and religion alike, which depicts the story of the creation of the Twins, the speculations of the one they call The Mother and the paths taken by either of the two deities.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The symbol of two anthropomorphic heads facing each other and baring horns or antlers, with four eyes, is used more often to represent the Twins than one such as eight eyes, four on each side, facing the viewer, often made out of entirely blue crystals and red crystals.

Tenets of Faith

There is a way for everything in the universe, my child, but think before you act. Are you certain that you are meant to bring him back? People come from far away, in pursuit of my knowledge, my aid, but I do not know everything. I do not know what will happen tomorrow, or what will happen a thousand and ten years from now. The best we can do is prepare for the future and hope. So, would he wanted you to bring him back? Shh, not now. Tomorrow. Always tomorrow. You're always allowed to change your mind.
— Palobayo, to a mourning knight.
The followers of the Twins, as well as the gods themselves, believe that one should pursue their own pleasure and peace, but not disturb others in doing so. To help others is a good thing, a thing to be desired, for one day you may find yourself in a similar position and in need of a helping hand.

Holidays

The Great Cycle Ball is an event which occurs at the beginning of every Cycle; this being the time measurement that equates to a bit over 9 years and 1 day of one of Terra's natural years. It celebrates life, altruism, and pleasure. The Twins loved attending it, back in the day.   There is also the Dance of Lights, which is somewhat inappropriately named, seeing as it is more of a festival than a dance, but the Gods were always thrilled by the exotic and numerous dances which were disaplayed here.   Another one to note, of great importance, is the Fragment of Knowledge. An entire month dedicated to studies and the pursuit of the knowledge which we do not yet know or even understand. The Twins would often bring gifts of mysterious items, languages, books, bits of other planets even, which would be studied and noted and documented, but often taken away within the Cycle and back where it belongs, should it be of importance.

Personal history

As I opened my eyes for the first time, I saw him staring back at me. And in his eyes, all the colours of the sea.
— Nerono
Though what powers have come together to create the Twins is uncertain and often do the ancient documents and texts and the stories passed on differ from each other, certain things are known to be true.   Palobayo and Nerono knew only of each other when they had awoken. The Mother was not present, or at least they could not see Her in the vast, non-existant emptiness that was the not-Universe then. They had also lacked colour or any definite features and were more clay to be shaped than anything else. They both took the horns or antlers of an animal, four eyes, filled in with one colour that occasionally seems to stream down their cheeks like paint but with the quickness of honey.   The rest of their physique is pretty Elven or Human-like, though their hands often bear claws and their back wings. They are, of course, able to alter their form, but Palo tries not to abuse this power much.   Palobayo invented the colour blue, being fond of the lightest shades, that grow brightly; sky blue, neon blue; yet taking such love for the darker ones as well, such as royal blue or lapis lazuli blue. These blues fill their eyes, their hair, any fur or feathers they bear.   Nerono thought up the light and dark tones of red, and used them to paint themselves a beautiful myriad of burgundy, crimson and the likes.   It is said that where these colours may be found in outer space, often where there is nothing but the gasses and the rocks which shine so brightly with them, that that is where the Twin gods have spent a fair amount of time. Those places are often undisturbed, but loved and noted dearly.   This was at least several google Cycles ago. Since then, the Twins have made and destroyed planets, species, and other gods. They fell in love with others, then with each other, and they pretended to not love the other one; one pretended because they were given no other choice, their mind taken from them, and the other because it hurt too much to stab and be stabbed by one whom you say you love.   Their war has ravaged planets, lives, even their own. Their wars have taken their loved ones and, upon occasion, their control over themselves and their sanity. After Palobayo's lover, Arkabass, due to Nero and Thaapole, lost his soul and his life, the god avoided confrontation even more so than before. Gone was the saviour and protector of species and planets all over the Universe.   He grew weak and hid amongst the very species that came from their and Nero's love and pretended to be a mere mortal, work with and for them. Palo arrived at The Grand Cycle Ball one Cycle, only for their sibling to show up, as an uninvited guest. More broken than the other had ever seen them before, Nerono began to wreak havoc, destroying the ancient sacred temple in which this took place.   A battle broke out and Palo ended up colliding with The Great Star, taking it, themselves and the nearby solar systems out of existence. Palobayo and Nerono haven't been seen since, but the Universe still seems to be altered and declining in health.

Circumstances of Birth
The Birth of the Twins was said to have occurred as either a natural process, the small, unknowing powers coming together to form the first beings of the the non-existing Universe or as the consequences of Mother's actions. Either way, with it began all.
Circumstances of Death
Nerono's faith is unknown but it possible that he, as well as the brother he had killed, Palobayo, is dead; though, some say that neither are dead. Merely weakened and resting.
