Gnomes are small humanoids that are not entirely native to Verdun, believed to be linked somehow to the Verdent Plane. This connection to such a mercurial and untamed force instills gnomes with a deep sense of restlessness, curiosity and creativity. Gnomes tend to have a deep aversion to large civilizations, preferring to be a close with nature as possible.
Description
Gnomes are very small compared to most other races and, with an average height ranging between 3'0"–3'6" and a weight range of 40–45 lbs, gnomes are generally larger and heavier than halflings. However, while halflings are commonly said to resemble short humans, gnomes bear no resemblence any humanoid of Verdun. Their features often reflect the native flora and fauna of their surroundings, with hair that changes colors to match the leaves of the season and horns or antlers of various animals.
