Primordial Origins
Folge (Order)
Folge was the first force, maintaining all existence in a perfect harmony. Eons passed, and all things were as they should be. No longer was there anything to do but watch over existence in perfect form. This watch was long and tiresome, and in its idleness another power was growing. On the brink of dormancy, a powerful force erupted into existence that threw the universe into chaos.
Kaaos (Chaos)
Some say Kaaos always existed, before Folge first balanced the universe. Others say it was the madness the of perfect universe that created it. But Kaaos strives in eternal conflict to Folge , resulting in great and terrible side effects. As Folge was chipped away, other forces manifested from those splinters.
Jorda (Elements)
The first force born from conflict, Jorda controls all elemental forces in the universe. Her first action was to organize the scattered elements into planetary bodies, but Kaaos forced the bodies into motion and created the Suns, doomed to die. Jorda fought tireless against Kaaos, seeking a way to keep the bodies from drifting into the suns and disintegrating to ash. Thus, solar systems were created and persist due to Jorda's permanent watch. But watching every system was an impossible task, so Jorda created Tiden to help in her watch by alerting her when a system was nearing death.
Tiden (Time)
Tiden keeps watch over the solar systems, but is young and naïve and prone to the tempting nature of Kaaos. He is carefree and distractible and grew bored with his watch, and asked Folge and Jorda for a new force to provide life on the planets. They agreed and Liva was born. She worked quickly, spreading each planet and creating lush and vibrant worlds with many powerful beings.
Liva (Life)
Liva is meticulous and precise and demands attention to details for her creations. She chose Verdun as her workspace for creating Sentience for its serene nature. Her first creations were the Gods, mighty beings that inhabited the seas, land and skies. She gifted them with a fragment of primordial powers and tasked them with aiding Folge's quest for order. She created angels to serve the gods. She created beautiful dragons with scales of precious metals. But Kaaos saw these creations and wanted creations of his own. He lured gods, angels and dragons into his command, where he learned the secrets to creating life. He twisted them into broken and corrupt versions of their former selves. The Gods became vengeful and malicious Devils. The angels lost their grace and became demons. The great dragons lost their luster and their scales grew soft. Due this failure, he gave them powers of war and sent them to destroy the others. Liva, Folge and Jorda came together to arm their creations with similar powers to defend themselves and great battles were fought on <planet>. Kaaos, devious and determined, created the final primordial force in an attempt to prove his might. He created Doden to end all things, even his beloved dragons, and unleashed it into existence.
Doden (Death)
Doden roamed the universe looking for all of Liva's creations in an unrelenting mission to bring it to an end. It made its way to Verdun and began to leave a wake of corpses in its path. Tiden stepped forward to stem the tide of death, but was only able to slow it. As a result, the inhabitants of Verdun were inflicted with the curse of mortality. It drained their powers and made weak, broken forms . These are the mortals that still inhabit Verdun, unaware of their glorious past. Nothing could withstand the curse and the only choice to survive was to flee, which is what the Gods and Angels did. Liva and Jorda created a domain where they could exist where even Folge didn't know, as Kaaos would surely find it if he did. The Gods and angels and other beings were brought to safety, where they continue to hide, doing their best to aide their abandoned brethren. The stubborn dragons stayed, now mortal but still retaining great power. Doden and Kaaos created a realm deep below the planet's surface where the Devils and Demons could scheme and breed to continue their quest for the death of all things. Here they were free from the curse of mortality
