α-1
Alpha-1, written in the greek lettering as α-1, was the first Mechanical Combat Unit designed and built by Song Ju-Wan, and was the first to be granted sentience. She was the first of twenty-four built.

Personal history
First constructed on November 5th, 2163 in The Institute's robotics division in Korea, responsible for the construction of the Mechanical Combat Units. Deemed a success, she was the prototype from which the remaining twenty-three were modeled.
Eventually, Alpha-1 began to show sentience. This concerned most of the researchers, except for Song Ju-Wan, the head of the division and inventer of the MCUs. He worked with Alpha-1 to replicate her self awareness in the other twenty-three androids, causing all of them to become sentient. Each developed their own personalities.
Gender Identity
Alpha-1 was designed with a female body, and as such she has adopted female pronouns for herself.
Education
Alpha-1 contains a detailed library of about Eighty Percent of the Institute's collective knowledge, making her one of the mmost intelligent entities on the planet.
Intellectual Characteristics
She speaks very plainly and straight forward, treating everyone she encounters with a certain level of respect just as Song Ju-Wan did to her when she first became self aware.
Morality & Philosophy
She strongly believes that the other MCUs should be able to live life as they please, and that they should be allowed to live a life of peace away from the military doctrine that was originally programmed into them.

She wants to reunite her sisters and build a life with them in peace and prosperity. She has even hypothesized a way for android procreation and has begun designing the second generation of androids.
