Ah! You seem to be someone who has interests in the world beyond what creature you're going to run through with your sword. Well, even if I'm wrong on that one, perhaps a little information on the local customs may be of some help? Can't collect a bounty if you don't know who's in charge of that sort of thing, can you? I mean, you look the adventuring sort and if I'm wrong then my name isn't Theolin Stacia - world traveller, chronicler of the ages, and if I'm to be honest... a man looking for a friend to buy him an ale or two.   I promise you, get me a drink or two, maybe even buy me some of that wretched looking "lamb" for dinner and I'll fill you in on whatever you need to know about the world. If I don't know about it, it doesn't exist! I might even be willing to part with some handy maps or journals for you to read at your leisure.
