The Zephyrstrike Compact
Introduction
A collection of genasi, half-elves, shifters, lizardfolk, and more, the Zephyrstrike Compact is an alliance of five tribes on the eastern side of Evere. Once a disparate and warring people, the tribes of eastern Evere were united by Elana Zephyrstrike, and each tribe now holds a seat at Elana’s Heart, a settlement at the center of every tribe. Despite this unification, tensions still bubble underneath the surface, and the tribes are often feuding in one form or another. Those of the Compact are generally wary of outsiders, as such people rarely visit, and almost hostile to anyone they know is from the Everian Republic. There is not much of note here in terms of commerce - it is simply a wild place where beings of all kinds live their lives and tribal politics run amok.The Five Tribes
The Zephyrstrike Compact consists of five tribes of disparate peoples under one banner. Each has traditions, specialties, and mannerisms that set them apart from the rest, causing conflicts and alliances. One of the primary attributes of the tribes is the animal each tribe raises alongside their hunters, but they also have different values that fuel their philosophies and negotiations. The Crawling Stone: Those of the Stone live primarily in underground tunnels and caves, literally carving a life out of the mountains that border their lands. Those farther away from the mountains live amongst and within the hills. Their signature animal is the dire badger. Unlike most of the other tribes, the Crawling Stone tribe treats their animals more as companions than mounts. There is not much need for mounts in the winding tunnels they make their home, and haing skilled diggers by their side make the underground living much more safe.Those of the Crawling Stone are a stoic bunch amongst outsiders, never too willing to open up and talk to their fellows. Their way of life by nature is quite isolationist, leading them to value their own people and exclude the rest. Amongst each other, however, the Crawling Stone are a boisterous lot, their reckless energy a stark contrast to their otherwise dreary home. The Swift Wind: Their signature animal is the horse. What their chosen mounts lack in uniqueness, they make up for in pure quality. The Swift Wind are the best in perhaps all the world at raising and riding horses. A Warrior of the Wind on horseback is a feared opponent all over the Compact. The Silent Waters: Their signature animal is the giant salamander. They are made up largely of lizardfolk.
The Frigid Fangs: Their signature animal is the winter wolf, an offshoot breed of dire wolves better suited to frigid environments. Due to the bred nature of the tribe wolves, they do not contain the same icy breath that their wild kin has, making them closer to beasts than monstrosities.
The Splintered Bone: Their signature animal is the reindeer, which has been bred for improved strength and offensive options compared to their wild brethren. This breeding makes them more disposed towards violence and more challenging to train.
