Dreskans (Dress-kens)

The Dreskans inhabit the country of Dreska, a small region to the Northeast of Kovura. They are mostly well-known for their good nature, but that hasn't gotten in the way of their fierce defense, and they take great pride in their allies adopting certain aspects of their culture that they are very open to sharing.

Gender Ideals

Like most countries, gender exploration is very common. Many find their identity by adulthood, and may declare it during their Rite of Life, though gender exploration may continue longer than that. It is merely an option to declare it at such a time.

Relationship Ideals

Dreskan relationships are fairly open, mostly during their younger years. Polyamory is not uncommon, either, though typically most prefer to settle with a single partner later in life.

Music

The Dreskans are a very musical people, and it isn't uncommon for the average individual to be at least somewhat musically inclined. Many composers are well-known to have been from Dreska, and they take great pride in these individuals, erecting statues to many in certain cities outside of theater halls.

Dreskans enjoy playing instruments of all kinds, and during festivals, musical "battles" often take place, spanning all kinds of genres focusing on a solo part.

Wine

Even more famously than their music is Dreskan Wine, a commodity in many countries. It's an especially iconic feature of many Dreskan cities, served countrywide as a staple of any quality tavern, and has become greatly desired in the large cities of Kovura and Kailys.

Its known for being one of the strongest wines in the world, made with especially rare elderberries native to the Eastern regions of Dreska. The berries have high sugar content, and when fermented, this content increases significantly higher than most other berries. Upon fermentation, this leads to a much greater alcohol content than would be achieved of similarly ripe grapes or other comparable fruits.

Due to this high alcohol content and its notable smoothness, there are restrictions put in place on how much of this wine can actually be purchased at a single time in most taverns, and in some countries, it is restricted even further.
