Shai Sora
Shai Sora
(Retired Character)
The Soran Tribe could almost be considered a strict family, with how they made their rules. While happiness and joy is still to be had, there were strict rules. No one was to betray another. No one was to intentionally hurt one another. And most importantly: If you leave, you can never return.
This was the place Shai Sora was born. But from the start, she knew she wasn't like the rest. While her tribe was full of people who loved the tribe, she wanted to leave almost instantly. She found the jungle far more inviting then the tribe. Every day she tried to escape, with her family always bringing her back, until the day when Shai could make the decision to leave by herself without her parents forcing her back.
It was the worst mistake she ever made.
She realized very quickly that the wilds was not friendly. The beasts of the jungle are not your friends, the plants disobeyed your wishes, and the only way to survive is to become an animal yourself. The horrors she had to do disgusted her, and the things that she took for granted eventually became her deepest desire, as she pleaded with the tribe to be taken back. But she already made her decision, and there was no going back. So in the jungles she learned to survive, hanging onto life as best as she could.
The only was Shai could keep her humanity was to purge from her mind what she was doing, but she still slowly killed her mental spirit. The classic gnomish spirit of happiness almost completely left her, and she became much more "primal" and depressed as she went on. But in this state of hopelessness, she also learned of the beauty of the brutality of the wilds. The seemingly innocent creatures all had their dark sides, and it somehow amazed her. And what amazed her more is throughout all of this, creatures still cared and supported one another. Not one of the creatures ever betrayed each other, and for the most part supported one another. Through this, she learned to love nature for what it was. She realized her calling to life.
On the day she finally found a road to civilization, she knew exactly what she was going to do. While she still holds a strong feeling of guilt towards her selfish decision creating a permanent gap between the only family she ever knew, she wishes to help whatever cause comes her way, and to protect the beauty of nature in any way she can.
