The Gleaming Bazaar Rules

The Gleaming Bazaar

In the mountainous kingdom of Krazax, within an enclosed valley in the Underworld, lies the Duergar capital city of Underfaust. Thanks to a group of diplomatic heroes, the Duergar have opened their capital to the adventurers of Kalkatesh.     At the heart of the Stonemarket district of Underfaust, a vast maze of multi-storied buildings of carved granite and marble gilded in glowing crystals giving off a faint light with the roads carved in dwarvish knotwork, lies The Gleaming Bazaar. Here, the stonework roads, unlike the rest of the city's dim and gloomy appearance, are vibrant and glowing with a golden hue. Upon the stone itself, a grand square lies illuminated by a giant crystal of topaz and filled with golden and ruby-silk awnings, market stalls, and vendors all calling out what wares they hold and what deals they have.

The Gleaming Bazaar is a system of crafting which serves as a supplement to the Magic Item Crafting system. Biweekly, after the update stream, The Gleaming Bazaar will list blueprints for sale in the #The-Gleaming-Bazaar channel and remove the previously listed blueprints. The blueprints have an unlimited availability, can be bought with crafting tokens, and used to craft items.

Purchasing Blueprints

Blueprints can be purchased regardless of RP-lock. To purchase a blueprint, you must make a post in #trading-log-and-consumables with the following format:
Economy spending [X] crafting tokens to purchase the [blueprint name] blueprint
Starting tokens: [X]
Ending tokens: [X]

Token Cost

- Minor - Major
Uncommon 1 2 3
Rare 10 14 18
Very Rare 30 50 -

Blueprint Reservation

You can reserve a blueprint of rarity Minor Rare or higher by paying a downpayment on the applicable blueprint while it is currently available. The downpayment is 3 crafting tokens for Minor Rare to Major Rare, and 10 crafting tokens for Minor Very Rare and Very Rare. While reserved, you cannot spend crafting tokens on any other blueprint until this one is bought in full.   You can also refund your reserved blueprint and receive all your crafting tokens back that you have spent on the reserved blueprint. Once refunded, you cannot reserve the blueprint again if it is no longer available.

Crafting

Blueprints sold through The Gleaming Bazaar will offer choices for effects, item type, damage type, etc. that will be stated on the blueprint. After you purchase a blueprint, you must submit The Gleaming Bazaar Blueprint Submission Form to receive a unique version of the item that you can begin to craft.

Masterwork Base Items and Special Methods

Special Methods that you have access to are able to be added to items made from blueprints. You can make a masterwork version of the magic item made from the blueprint if you own a masterwork item of the same item type and choose to use it as a base item.

Tools

If you are proficient with and possess the relevant masterwork tools while crafting the relevant item, you may choose 1 additional effect:
  • Carpenter's Tools: Medium size or larger items made predominantly of wood
  • Cobbler’s Tools: Footwear
  • Glassblower’s Tools: Items made predominantly of glass
  • Herbalism Kit: Items made predominantly of plant-matter
  • Jeweler’s Tools: Jewelry and other items made predominantly of precious metals
  • Leatherworker’s Tools: Armor and other items made predominantly of leather
  • Mason's Tools: Items made predominantly of hard stone, and medium size or larger items made predominantly of bone
  • Potter's Tools: Items made predominantly of clay, or softer kinds of stone

  • Woodcarver’s Tools: Weapons and small size or smaller items made predominantly of wood or bone
  •

    Progressing a Magic Item

After the form is submitted, Crafting will reformat the item and post your unique version in #crafting. Once posted, you may begin progressing your item following the same rules and format outlined under the Progressing a Magic Item section under Magic Item Crafting. The gold cost is determined by the rarity according to the following table:

    Rarity Cost (gp)
    Minor Uncommon 250
    Uncommon 500
    Major Uncommon 750
    Minor Rare 1000
    Rare 1500
    Major Rare 2000
    Minor Very Rare 3000
    Very Rare 4000

    Blueprint Rules

Most rules for blueprints are outlined under Magic Item Crafting. However, there is no limit to how many blueprints from the Gleaming Bazaar you can own and you can only craft an item once from each blueprint from the Gleaming Bazaar

    Scrapping

When you can scrap a blueprint from the Gleaming Bazaar, you regain the crafting tokens you spent to purchase the blueprint and the blueprint is destroyed. If you used a Special Method in your blueprint, it is returned to you, but you cannot use it on identical additional blueprints as the result will be the same.

    Trading

Gleaming Bazaar blueprints can be traded. However, you cannot receive a blueprint that is in a tier above your play from another player.

    Blueprint Tiers

Tier 1 Minor Uncommon to Major Unommon
Tier 2 Minor Rare to Major Rare
Tier 3 Minor Very Rare to Very Rare

    Refunds and Exchange

    Crafting Materials

Crafting materials used before the release of The Gleaming Bazaar will not be used for crafting the sold blueprints and will not be usable with future Magic Item Crafting systems.
    Crafting materials on person
A refund will be offered during the first month after The Gleaming Bazaar is released to trade crafting materials for crafting tokens at the following rates.
    • Poor - 2
    • Moderate - 5
    • Superior - 9
    • Flawless - 20
To claim a refund, you must make the following post in #crafting-material-refund as follows:
@Economy refunding the following crafting materials for a total of [X] crafting tokens
[Crafting Material Name 1, Rarity] x [Quantity]
[Crafting Material Name 2, Rarity] x [Quantity]
    [Etc.]

Masterwork items made from Crafting materials
In case a player has made a crafting material into mundane masterwork item to use as a base material in the old crafting system, the player can request a refund for the crafting material according to the above table, with the exception that they get to keep the masterwork item. The masterwork item is then presumed to be made from mundane materials and can be used in blueprint crafting as stated above.
    Crafting materials in faction banks
Crafting materials stored in faction banks shall be transferred to the character that deposited it. If it is not possible to transfer the crafting material due to character death, retirement, etc. then the crafting material is converted to gp at the following rate and added to the faction treasury.
    • Poor - 500
    • Moderate - 1250
    • Superior - 2250
    • Flawless - 5000
To claim a refund on non-transferrable crafting materials in faction banks, the applicable faction quartermaster must make the following post in #crafting-material-refund as follows:
@Economy refunding the following crafting materials from the [Faction Name] bank for a total of [X] gp
[Crafting Material Name 1, Rarity] x [Quantity]
[Crafting Material Name 2, Rarity] x [Quantity]
    [Etc.]

Special Crafters that were purchased from the Great Bazaar will be offered a refund according to the list below or at their full gp cost if sufficient evidence of purchase can be provided.
    • Poor - 500
    • Moderate - 1250
    • Superior - 2250
    • Flawless - 5000

    [Etc.]
After the month, refunds will no longer be offered and any remaining crafting materials and special crafters will be defunct.

    Crafting Token Exchange
