Very few things can ever even hope of matching the awe that dragons inspire. Dragons are the last remaining vestiges of Primordial Life, and are the great inheritors of the immortal blood carried by a
Basic Information
Anatomy
Draconic traits vary upon the particular brood. Traits are also very variable and hard to pin down in terms of specifics. However, the universal trait all dragons have is simple: All of them possess four powerful legs, a long tail, horns, and a massive, reptilian body covered in scales. Many also have a pair of massive wings capable of granting their enormous bodies flight.
Growth Rate & Stages
What truly makes a dragon unique, is its life cycle. Dragons are biologically immortal; they can live for centuries, millenia, and often measure their lifespans in these enormous periods of time as they grow in age. This leaves Dragons a nigh-infinite amount of time to do as they please, while also allowing them to learn and grow in strength over time. Dragons are sapient creatures; and are as clever, if not even more intelligent than mortals. Due to this, their long lifespan allows for them to learn and perfect just about anything they desire to spend their endless lifespan on. Dragons do not stop growing either.
This is truly what makes the Dragon a fearsome creature; for their infinite age allows for them to inevitably grow to monstrous sizes great enough to cast a shadow upon hamlets. Truthfully; it is unknown whether a dragon can live forever or not, for they are almost always killed from unforeseen circumstances.
