Fianni

Written by strawberryAle

Fianni is the language of the Elafi; a race of humanoids renown for having deer-like traits. It is a language that is frequently spoken among their kind, and is one of the few languages that is almost just as shared through the world as the 'Common Tongue.' In the Elafi language, it is referred to as 'Fianni'.

Stepping on Loose Sand

Og boda er Gainre Scait. -- A phrase used to describe when someone is doing something very dangerous. Similar to 'playing with fire'; refers to the dangers of quicksand found in the Elafi homeland.

Acting the Cock

Og Gniom en Erleaich. -- A phrase used to describe someone acting hot tempered. Refers to the very aggressive and hostile nature of the cockatrice, a beast found lurking in Kalni.

Ear Wiggling

Seaiga Croit -- Eavesdropping. Elafi ears are long and deer like, and can move and adjust in order to hear from specific directions.

In the Mud

Oi En Laitb: Out of it, dozed, or drunk.

Smoothies

Reidbi: Refers to those that do not have fur; typically humans or Elves, for their smooth, bare skin.

Effin' an' A'sing

Unlike the above, this developed with the integration of Elafi and human culture. After Elafi grew to learn the common tongue, they began using this phrase to refer to people who curse or end up throwing a tantrum -- typically with a lot of swear words.

Holy Show/Holy Joe

Sao Naof/Joe Naof: A terrible display of something; a public event that goes horribly wrong. Holy Joe refers to a pompous or self-righteous person.

Rabbit

Por Coini A phrase that refers to an adulterer or someone that enjoys sleeping around. The Elafi equivalent of calling someone a 'whore'

These languages and phrases are typically only found among the Chain of Fire.
