The Code Legal (Soleil)

Criminal acts and activity will not be tolerated in the Town of Soleil. Punishments will frequently be changed as fit based upon the parliament's decision. Magisters will be left in charge of enforcing these laws and punishments, while the Cranes and Witch Hunter's guild will act as separate wings dedicated to bringing justice to anyone that would commit the crimes presented below. Soleil condones and encourages the following punishments to help create a safer environment for its people.   Note that even though they remain overseas, our current King is and always will be Verres Tyrel, and our Queen Morrigan. To mistreat, insult, or sully their name in any way is liable to being a grievous defense. We are still part of the Vank Kingdoms, and consider ourselves a colony separate from the state of Tregaron.   Based on the nature of the crime, one or more of the following punishments can and will be carried out immediately, upon the capable person's (Magister, Parliamentary official, or current Baron) judgement.
  • Death (Carried out in specific ways. Death will be carried out by lynching in most circumstances.)
  • Flogging (Either a set number of strokes delivered to the convicted, or mutilation based upon their crime.)
  • Detainment (For a set number of days, months, or years, depending on severity. Detainment typically implies a certain amount of days spent in Perdition
  • Perdition
To those who remain uniformed, to be 'thrown into Hell's Mouth' is not necessarily literal. Being sentenced into hell's mouth, or sentenced into perdition, is to be swallowed by special golems for a small period of time. You will be stripped naked and carried through the city wherever the golem pleases, with the aim of humiliating the victim in question.
  • Fine(A set amount of coins, determined by the magistrate judging the sentence.)
  • Edict(Forbade from a certain activity. Violation of an edict will result in more serious consequences.)
Committing Murder without justification will always lead to death based upon the choosing of the victim's kin. If murder is committed with justification, trial will occur to determine whether or not the party involved is guilty.

Section A: Crimes against Officials & Nobility

  1. Members of the Cranes, the Witch Hunters, or the Magistrate are treated as officials for the purposes of enforcing these laws. Crimes against the parliament or current Baron will have far more serious consequences.
  • Assault of a Lord or Official: Death or Flogging based upon the official's judgement. If the official is harmed to the point of not being able to provide judgement, then the sentence is by default, death by perdition.
  • Impersonation of a Lord or Official: Flogging or a fine of up to 500 Crowns. Impersonation of the Baron is punishable by death.
