The Purging of Asenboll
"This is no different from what the curse does! What are we doing?!" "Fire does not murder our children. Flame does not rape our people and twist their minds. Fire is a mercy from what they become. To be ash, is to be cured. To be burnt, is to be purified. There is no alternative -- I will burn this whole city down if it means never seeing a Wendigo again!" --An exchange between Lachtna and his subordinate during the purge.Lead by the Scarlet King, Lachtna Scolaighe, the Purging of Asenboll is considered to be one of the greatest atrocities ever committed in Elafi history. The Genocide lead to the complete destruction of an entire city, where countless Elafi and Elven lives were lost in the culminating eruption from the eponymous volcano. After the discovery of Wendigo Sickness, Asenboll was discovered to have several inhabitants sick with the disease. Asenboll took to treating them in hopes of finding a cure, while Lachtna sought to bring the only cure he knew to cleanse those afflicted by the curse: Flame.
The Conflict
Prelude
The curse was found within several inhabitants of Asenboll, whom chose to attempt treating the Wendigo Sickness. Lachtna saw this as a threat and purged the city.
Deployment
No one expected the Scarlet Circle to attack, so Asenboll was far from ready. They were still within the town when the city was assaulted by fire.
Battlefield
Asenboll was once a large Elafi city built upon the base of a dormant volcano at the center of Kalni. It was surrounded by forest, which the city was known for being built into. The trees in Asenboll were exceptionally large, and capable of being carved or hollowed out as a potential home.
Outcome
Asenboll was purged; thousands were slaughtered in the battle. All traces of Wendigo sickness were removed from Kalni's center.
Aftermath
While Asenboll's purging did indeed result in reports of Wendigo sickness going down, the massacre at the city had resulted in all Scarlet Circle druids to be branded as criminals. Furthermore, Fire magic has long been associated with the Scarlet Circle. Those that use it are looked upon with wary eyes.
Historical Significance
Legacy
Asenboll will forever be remembered as one of the central Elafi cities, resting close to the Nornfeist. The devastation rendered upon the city has forever struck fear in the hearts of many -- of both Wendigo sickness and the Scarlet Circle.
In Literature
Ashes on a Crown: A book published recounting the history of Asenboll's purging, written by Erlan Yin -- an Elven scholar that reportedly managed to survive the attack.
Technological Advancement
Most of the battle had taken place during an era where the Elafi had little access to gunpowder weapons. They did, however, have plenty access to magic; Lachtna and his druids bombarded the city with fiery spells, which were more than a match for the usually peaceful, inadequately defended city of Asenboll.

Casualties
Slim to none; minimal.
Nearly its entirely population was murdered.

To defend from the Scarlet Circle's attack.
