The blood curse afflicts its first victims, marking the dreary beginning of a new era, and way of life for humanity.

The Blood Curse was discovered shortly after vampirism took over nobility. Very little is known as to how the curse spread into humanity, but the curse swiftly swept over the Crusaders after they drove out the Elves. They pursued them into the Chain of Fire, only to be afflicted by the horrible and maddening disease that drives men to slay men and devour flesh.
