Alchemy
Alchemy is the most common practice of magic found throughout the world of Veska, and is often known for being accessible to just about anyone that knows how to properly mix components and regents together. While hardly as powerful as Feycraft, Alchemy is known for being much more accessible.
Catalysts
The most important component to Alchemy are the catalysts used as a base. Catalysts are usually either one-dimensional with their properties or do not do anything extraordinary unless prepared in a specific manner. While certain plants have blatant properties, such as Webflower being dense and sticky, and thus providing that effect towards brewed potions, there are also other potions that are much less obvious, such as Heartleaf. On its own, Heartleaf is often used as a spice or sweetener when crushed or ground. However, when prepared properly, Heartleaf creates a very potent aphrodisiac, commonly referred to as 'Love Potions'. Other common objects are the usage of Cinder Pearls, which are unique plants that grow within cold biomes. Cinder pearls are treasured for their rarity, but also make powerful stimulants -- and in some cases, can be refined into medicines that numb pain.Cooking
Once the catalysts are assembled, they are then cooked. Cooking this combination does not necessarily mean that they are literally cooked over a fire, though that is actually a very common method used in preparing potions through Alchemy. This just refers to specific methods of cooking a potion or object, which leads to it being possible to distill as a functional potion or usable alchemical device.Potions!
Among the most common result in Alchemy are the various potions that are created, manufactured, and distilled throughout Veska. There are many potions found throughout the world that deserve their own categorization; from the ever-common health potion that mends wounds and repairs flesh. To the much more niche Rustwater oils often used to rapidly corrode metal, which is often used to nonlethally disarm and disable hostile soldiers or thugs. Potions aren't the only form of finished product that can be found or manufactured through Alchemy. Other products include powders or dusts, and there's even items that can be fashioned through the careful use of special sigils.Sigils
Sigils are what causes Alchemy to veer off into the unnatural side of things. While Alchemy is often seen as a mostly scientific field, it is the sigils that separate a trained professional from a common adventurer that's just savy with their plants and cooking methods. Sigils are symbols; they're drawn out with chalk most often, but a certain few may require specific substances to create. Sigils have their roots. They are simply symbols gleaned from the written form of the Fey language. It is often best described as the 'written form of Feycraft'Manifestation
Alchemy is simply the combination of various ingredients. An Alchemist combines all the ingredients in a specific manner, with herbs and plants being the most common regent used. After being combined, a special preparation process brews the potion; this is typically done by having the bottle cooked over a burner, though there are other preparation methods, such as chilling or freezing the tonic to create the effect.
