Amelia

The Bright Queen

Amelia, Goddess of the Sun, is the primary Goddess widely revered across the land of Dekarth. While her worship is rare outside of Dekarth, recent trade and frequent traveling have lead to her faith becoming much more prominent in other locations across the world.   Amelia is often depicted nude, with pale skin and stark red hair. Her head is surmounted by a pair of blades rising from where her ears should be, with one rising up from the top of her head.

Divine Domains

Amelia is often associated with the duality brought by the sun. Radiant, beautiful, yet too fierce and bold to gaze upon without losing one's eyes. The Sun is the most important aspect of Amelia.   Valor, War, and Battle are important to Amelia's faithful. Keeping steadfast no matter the odds whilst proving your worth as a warrior is seen as an important thing. While most faithful to Amelia prefer honorable combat, the faithful still find it important to stand for yourself no matter what the cost; should that come at the expense of a 'clean' fight, then so be it.   Beauty is another important aspect. One must always ensure that they keep themselves presentable and pleasant to the eye. As a result, Amelia's faithful are quite fond of not just battle, but the fine arts as well -- both are often interwoven together.

Artifacts

The River Shaker: A massive kanabo. Long ago, the club was used during a war waged across the only river in Dekarth. The conqueror that wielded it rode drake and dragon alike into battle, but always boldly leapt into the fray with the kanabo in hand. Ironically enough, the Kanabo is a mere rusted relic -- a shadow of its former self. It was a simple weapon, with no enchanted qualities.   It was called the 'River Shaker', named after the legendary warrior that wielded it.   Briar Crown: A spiked crown of thorny briars. The briar crown was placed upon the head of a Queen before her impending exile. The Queen is said to have worn this crown through the entirety of her exile, shameful of her oversights and failure in overcoming the despot that stole her people. While the crown was long lost, the Queen wore it while she attempted to poison herself, only to find that even the most dangerous of serpents failed to bring her end.   The Briar crown is said to be a painful cure-all. For those that are lost, but still stoic in their faith, they will find that all poisons and venoms fail to bring harm to them for as long as it's worn.   Chakrams: Often called 'Sunblades' to practiced martial artists. They're religious weapons that are meant to resemble the sun; four blades point out in the cardinal directions, with a crossguard at the center.

Holy Books & Codes

The Tenets: A stone slab, carved with the tenets of faith. This is the only true religious text important to Amelia, and it's often replicated in simple paper sheets rather than stone hunks.   Han vi Vanti: Khans and Conquerors; An important text that's also often seen as a relic or artifact. It lists all the important warriors of Amelia, their accomplishments and valorous deeds. Those faithful to Amelia always aspire to have their name scrawled into this book, where their names are memorialized forever. Each Church has its own personal Han vi Vanti, with copies of its tales administered as inspiration to the clergy.   Nag-Mizra, often considered the holiest and most important city to Devkarti culture, holds the largest Han vi Vanti. It is a massive collection of all warriors, rather than those that proved themselves within the locale. The Han vi Vanti there is a full collection of every warrior that has ever been penned within the pages of one.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The Sun: The Sun itself, often painted with the cardinal directions in mind.

Tenets of Faith

Strength and Honor. Always prove yourself as the mightiest one, rise until a stronger one ascends you, and grow mightier to rise beyond even them.

Respect. Those that have proved themselves as a warrior. Slight only those who have slighted you, and face all occasions with bravery and boldness alike.

Hands, not Words. Let your actions speak louder than your words. Your voice can be loud, but your actions will speak far greater.

Ferocious Grace. Enemies are best left in awe or fear, while your comrades are best left with admiration.

Flaunt and Admire. Do not be afraid of leaving others in awe of your beauty. Let others know your thoughts on their grace, be honest. To gaze and look upon a naked form is to gaze upon Amelia herself. To touch is to leave your hand burned by the sun.

Be Bold. Always rise to any occasion. There is no flying too close to the sun, so long as you remain brave, you will never burn in Amelia's light.

Holidays

The Bright Queen's Hallow: A salacious event often celebrated solely in Dekarth. It is a monthly affair beginning on the first day of each month. Nobles, slaves, and warrior alike gather within the palace of a nearby city with the only requirement being a mask to disguise one's identity. As a full masquerade, nobles, peasants, soldiers, and all walks of life are left to disguise themselves and fraternize with each other however they please, and are encouraged to forge different identities for the occasion.   The masquerade remains strictly anonymous, unless one's name is mentioned to the public and announced. 'Naming' somebody leaves the one being named obligated to reveal themselves.
