Llyne City
Once standing as a shining paragon of human civilization to The Faith Keepers, Llyne is now known for being a melting pot of races to some, and a den of degeneracy to others. Ever since a massive sinkhole swallowed the center of the city and lead towards an abyss filled with primeval creatures and priceless artifacts, Llyne has become the subject of a metaphorical gold rush; adventurers far and wide travel from around the world in hopes of discovering great relics of untold power.
Demographics
While demographics still remain predominantly Human, the recent surge of adventurers rushing to explore The Pit has lead to Llyne often being called a 'melting pot' of sapient species.
Wealth
Due to wealth primarily being distributed through the guilds that make up Llyne's infrastructure; as a result, wealth is primarily based upon how well a guild is doing and how much the member of that guild is valued. Those that aren't part of the guild are one of two things; an adventurer seeking to dive into the pit, or destitute. Signing into the membership under a guild is a lifetime commitment; while work can be done for other guilds, members of a guild are always expected to act based upon their guild's interest, and retire with pensions given from the guild gave their membership to. Adventurers generally live in a special district called 'Hero's Vale'; which is a massive valley that leads up towards the main city. The vale has special, small, cheap, but affordable lodgings designed to serve as basic homes to travelers interested in staying in Llyne whilst they delve into the pit, though it isn't uncommon for poor or lower-class citizens to buy one of these housings for a basic living.Government
Being left under the control of the The Faith Keepers means that most of the government decisions and laws are passed through the Church. Recent events have lead towards more progressive changes within the government body to accommodate the surge of adventurers that have swept through the city.
Legislation
Legislation is primarily handled by five specially appointed governors called fingers. These governors are still considered a separate entity from the Church of Aine, but more often than not have some sort of tie or allegiance to it. Each finger is given complete control of one of the districts found within Llyne; simply South, East, West, and North Llyne. The fifth finger is given legislation over the pit. Law making is in the hands of the Guildmasters. This is because each Guildmaster is expected to put forward requests or drafts of laws that they may attempt to pass through the fingers; should 4/5 fingers agree on the drafted law, then it is passed, otherwise, it is sent back to the Guildmaster for revision or simply scrapped. The fingers are also in charge of recruiting members to their district's town guard, and can appoint up to three heads that are called Judges. Judges are given full control over every guard across Llyne; however, a judge appointed to their district must be obeyed over judges appointed elsewhere.
