Villish Longhouse
The Familiehaus is a very common part of Villish architecture. They're large, low-lying buildings that are designed to house multiple rooms with a central kitchen. A staple to Villish culture, longhouses are a common home for many families found across the many villages of northern Tregaron.
Family Comfort
The Familiehaus translates to 'Family House' in Villish; their longhouses are designed to house not just an immediate family, but the extended branches. Villish culture is centered around keeping family close, and their homes reflect that. A Familiehaus may have up to three generations of Villish people living together, and it is not too uncommon for Villish people to die in the house they were raised in. They're buildings constructed of timber, with multiple rooms built around a central hall that serves as a gathering place for the family. The central hall often includes a large dining table and kitchen designed for the family to convene at. Private rooms are found surrounding the central hall; typically, the entrance of the building is a foyer, but it isn't uncommon for these grand halls to be the first section of the house that somebody would step into. Older designs often included an roof for the hall; where coal pits were used to mass cook a variety of different meats.
