Northern Marshes

Stretching from the Blaxpanse Swamp to the estuary of the Teru River, the Northern Marshes are an expansive region with a very mixed culture. The eastern half of the marshes are predominately dwarven, while the western half of the marshes are a mix of elves, humans, and halflings. The scattered hills of the Northern Marshes are the primary spots for farming and mining settlements.       The primary export of the Northern Marshes is agriculuture. The rich soil drained from the marshes help grow superfoods, but require draining and deforestation. Deals with druids often have to be made in order to protect towns from both monsters, disease, and the druids themselves. Additionally, small amounts of hill mining take place, as large amounts of coal can be found in the hills. However, these are not common and require careful excavation. Infrastructure in Yellowhammer is underdeveloped and relies heavily on highlines. Sometimes rowboats or amphibous creatures may be used to traverse long distances, but this is not as easy as simply traveling to settlements connected to highlines. As such, unconnected settlements often rely on independent merchants to export their goods, and the merchants will bring their products to larger connected cities. There are many beasts and monsters lurking in the wild areas of the Northern Marshes. It is incredibly dangerous to leave the city limits, as any kind of creature may ambush you at a moment's notice.
