Olbrin Bay

The arguable heart of Olbrin, the sheltered bay makes for one of the most popular ports in Vestria.

Geography

Olbrin Bay is a large tidal basin that sits protected from strong winds and sea waves by the tall cliffs that rise to form the outlet leading onto the Eastern Sea.
Shallow beaches line the interior of the basin with various piers having been erected to allow access to ships coming into port.

Climate

Olbrin Bay has a fairly temperate climate most year-round. Humidity is often an issue during the summer months as the same cliffs that protect the bay from churning waves of the sea prevent most of the sea breeze from reaching the shore. 
In a similar vein, icing is a common enough occurance in the winter months as the calm waters of the basin freeze easily once the temperature drops enough. The ice is rarely difficult for large vessels, but smaller crafts are typically beached for the season.

Fauna & Flora

Beneath its waters, Olbrin Bay is home to scores of crab, clams, and other shellfish. Normal schools of fish are noticeably rarer as the constant movements of the ships in and out of port tend to drive the larger groups away, though fishing boats bring in decent cargo after sailing just beyond the protection of the cliffs and into the deeper sea.

Natural Resources

The protection from the worst of outside elements allows the bay to remain calm even in harsh weather, making it an ideal port and marina for ships to sail into.
Additionally, the high cliff walls have made great locations for sentries and other defenses for the city while the local fauna make for a thriving fishing industry.
Put together, Olbrin boast one of the busiest and safest ports in Vestria with ships carrying everything from immigrants from Kyama to crops from down the coast.
